In Bosnia-Herzegovina, 91 cities and provinces had at least one concentration camp. These camps were used to hold prisoners, interrogate enemies, and murder Bosniaks. These camps were loosely based off of Hitler's idea of slave labor camps, except on a much more personal level. People were tortured by friends and neighbors, and punishments were catered to each individual. The death camps were perhaps the most horrifying part of the genocide.
The region of Prijedor had the three deadliest camps: Omarska, Keraterm, and Trnopolje.
